Many of our patients consider this therapeutic technique to be an excellent alternative to surgery and medication whenever they are in need. When this therapeutic technique is used, the healing process is accelerated. A handheld device is moved over the area of the body that has been affected during the treatment session. Most people find the treatment comfortable, and they won’t feel any pain or discomfort.
Laser therapy or “photobiomodulation”, is the use of specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects. These therapeutic effects are created by photons of light, which penetrate damaged cells. When this occurs, there is pain relief, a reduction of inflammation, and an accelerated tissue healing time. The best clinical results are achieved when a sufficient number of photons reach the target tissue.
Laser therapy uses near-infrared (NIR) laser light to stimulate the mitochondria of the body’s cells to increase the production of ATP. Boosting the production of ATP through laser therapy has been shown to treat common concerns, such as reducing pain and inflammation. Laser therapy promotes the natural healing of the body in a safe, non-invasive procedure that is an alternative to pain-reducing drugs.
RESULTS
We use laser therapy often for our patients with high pain levels or injuries- as it has a high beneficial effect on nerve cells which block pain transmitted by these cells to the brain and which decreases nerve sensitivity. Less inflammation: less pain.
