Morgan Crowley ChiropractorThere are many different chiropractic techniques. Atlas Orthogonal is one of the topmost specific, easily repeatable, and non-invasive methods. We invite you to learn more about this life-changing technique that has been beneficial for countless people across the globe.

In the neck, there is an Atlas bone, which is the top cervical bone. You can think of the atlas as the first “link” in a chain that connects you to the rest of your body. Therefore, the alignment of this small bone can affect the whole spine when it is out of place. In a balanced body, your head should be above your feet. When the atlas is misaligned, the head tilts, which causes the spine to shift in an attempt to support the new position of the head. This causes tension and pain to your muscles due to extra stress and strain.

Since the head will shift off the middle of the top of the neck, that means the rest of the body must compensate for this shift of weight. In this case, the spine and pelvis will twist, causing one shoulder to drop down and one hip to pull up, resulting in an imbalance in the body. A result of this will be pain that will be felt throughout the whole body. In addition, when the spinal column is out of alignment and out of balance, the nervous system is unable to function as it was intended, which can lead to a wide range of issues such as neck and back pain, headaches, TMJ, and digestive disorders to numbness, vertigo, and many other symptoms.

TECHNIQUE

The Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic technique was founded in the 1960s, by Dr. Roy Sweat It is based on the understanding that if the C1 is out of alignment this will result in a shift in the balance of your entire body.

Subluxation of the Atlas is the term used to describe this shift or misalignment. In the event that a subluxation of the Atlas occurs, pressure and inflammation are created around the nerves, causing disruption in the normal functioning of the nervous system, resulting in a variety of symptoms and pain. We know from science that your body’s structure has a great deal to do with how it functions on a daily basis.

That’s why Atlas Orthogonal is essential for everyone today. It has been featured on several TV channels including ESPN and more, is non-invasive, and does not rely on cracking or popping for its effectiveness.

After graduating from Life University in 2014, Dr. Morgan Crowley began practicing the AO technique immediately after graduation. There are patients from as far away as New York, Florida, Indiana, and more who come to receive this life-changing treatment.
